The Switch From PC To Macbook
The switch wasn’t on a whim, but it wasn’t a well calculated decision either. Like many of us, I was intrigued by the latest Apple commercials that bombard us with claims of “just working“. We are all searching for a hassle free computer experience and Apple has done a great job at recruiting PC users to the other side (the dark side in my case) with their latest releases and marketing campaigns. Yes, I am one of those former PC users ready to take on the Mac world and see if it is all it’s cracked up to be. I am a bit skeptical, but excited and very curious and anxious to learn more about the latest Mac Attack.
Working as a graphic/web designer in the past, I have often been taunted by peers to switch to Mac, but had become so used to PC and was always worried about making the transition from Windows to Mac as well as the costs involved such as buying the Mac version of the software I use like Photoshop, etc. When I found out that I could switch to Mac and still keep my Windows open, I was drawn more towards the possibility of seriously making the decision. Since I was already thinking of purchasing a more powerful laptop to work on more often, when I saw the power of a Macbook combined with the portability, and supposed superior stability of Mac OSX, I simply had to try it out! I bought it on the spot! I still do occasional graphic work, use Photoshop daily, and make a living as an Internet entrepreneur so, for now, the macbook seems ideal….but right now, it’s on trial.
As I mentioned in my “About” page, I am a newbie to Mac and although I have been making a living online (and with a PC) for over 7 years, I am not a tech wizard by any standard. As I become acquainted with my new black macbook and life using mac software, I will share the experiences (good and bad) in the way that they happen. If you are new to Mac as well, or thinking about switching from PC, you may find something here that will help you along the way or possibly help make your decision to switch.
